Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 1-2
Serving the Amityville Community since 2000 - Our 11th Year!

Flotilla 01-02 is located in Amityville, NY. We help patrol the Great South Bay and support US Coast Guard Station Fire Island. Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Anchorage Yacht Club, 410 East Shore Road, Lindenhurst, NY 11757. Doors open at 7:00pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm.

If you don't want to attend a meeting, you can still take advantage of the services we provide to boaters. Our most popular are the boating safety classes and vessel safety checks.

Membership in the Coast Guard Auxiliary is open to U.S. citizens, at least 17 years old, and pass a basic background check. There are no upper age limits or height/weight standards, although for operational activities, you must be physically able to perform certain tasks. There are no minimum service hours – you can serve as little or as much as you want.

Flotilla 1-2 member Dante Laurino, the Assistant National Commodore - Readiness Support FORCECOM

You do not have to own a boat or participate in water-based operations to join the Auxiliary.

With nationwide membership, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary actively provides safety patrols on area waterways and regularly meets with the boating public at marinas and in classrooms. We also directly assist the U.S. Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as search and rescue, and marine environmental protection.

Members volunteer for self-satisfaction and are recognized with awards

The Auxiliary needs people with leadership, administrative and technical skills (such as web site design, computer server administration, graphic design, photography, videography, communications, public relations/public affairs, instruction and instructional design, and personnel services) to support those Auxiliaries involved in the recreational boating safety and operations & marine safety missions.

Come join us and see what we are all about! If you plan on attending a meeting please send an email to info@flotilla1-2.org
